24km, Bergen weight 35lb minimum weight not including water and food, around 4-4500 feet of ascent in total.
After yesterday's poor effort I thought I'd strip my running back to basics and run in fell running shoes, WITHOUT the rucksack. However I increased the distance to 14.2 miles across quite rough country, with the route having an elevation gain of 1708 feet. The route started with Troserch X roads route then Burning Calfs Hill Oval twice and then the X roads route again. I did not stop at all and that includes all FOUR hills. I was initially surprised when I made it up the X roads hill without stopping but I even managed to get up Burning Calfs Hill without stopping, though my thighs were burning at the top and not my calfs and the second time even though I really wanted to stop, through blind determination I didn't. The route was completed in 2hours 24minutes and 54seconds, which I am quite pleased with considering the difficulty of the route. The nail on my toe that was black after the Pen-y-fan recce is now lifting a fair bit and bleeding after todays run.
