IMPORTANT AMMENDMENT!
I QUOTED THAT THE LAST TIME I DID THIS ROUTE I FINISHED IN 1 HOUR AND 15 MINUTES. THIS WAS WITHOUT A BERGEN!
My Brother and I did a training run together. We did the Troserch X roads route and then the burning calfs hill route this made the route 7.2 miles in length with an elevation gain of 854ft. Both of us were carrying Bergens, Strider's was 37LB before adding his 2 litres of water and mine was 47LB without my 1 litre of water. I used my '58 pattern belt and water bottle, and have decided that on race day I will definitely use the bladder, as I found that I wasn't drinking as much as I should, because it was too much hassle to get the bottle out of the pouch. The going was tougher today than on any of the other runs I have done through Troserch as the ground was so soft, sometimes we were ankle deep in slippery mud. We didn't break any records on this run, which we completed in 1 hour 44 minutes. Last time I did this route I finished in 1 hour 15 minutes and that was with an injury! I feel I have lost some of my fitness over the last 3 weeks due to the thigh strain, so during the half term holidays the week after next I need to get out almost every day
